So rare to have all 5 in one place and relatively still. These were foster chicks hatched in a classroom in October without a plan to place them in homes or farms. Luckily we found a good chick mama.

Negative SpaceThis is one of my favorite techniques. I'm a big fan of negative space...and depth of field...and bokeh...and macro...and reflections...Oh, so I like all of it. I'm just really happy with this image. So there - take that!

10 points for whomever guesses where this was taken. Another 10 points if you can guess the airline! A further 10 points if you know the type of aircraft. (Hint - the type of aircraft will help narrow down the airline - the airline will help narrow down the locale...) We're talkin' 30 points here, people - that's more than the Illini score in most games! Ready? GO!

- Get Pushed - Round 17.1
- Feb 3, 2012
By iPlaid34
Same subject - different photogFor this round of "Get Pushed," I was paired with the photographically talented Stacie - who probably was here at some point. When discussing our challenges to each other, I noticed that we be both from relatively the same area in Illinois (only about 50 miles away, or so). So I thought it might be interesting to photograph the same subject in our own special way. I mentioned that I would be traveling through her neck of the woods over the weekend, so she mentioned that this windmill would be something to capture.Well, I shot it in HDR and did a bit of post to it to bring out the gritty details of the road and the brick. I quite like how it turned out. You're probably wondering why this is 17.1 - well, just in case she didn't make it out to the windmill, she also challenged me to create a tiny world for her by means of photoshop tilt-shift processing. You can see that image by clicking here! Thanks for a fun challenge Stacie - I hope we virtually cross paths again!

Reflections of a PhotographerWell this week's theme was "surreal" and I didn't want to go all Dali on everyone - especially since I didn't feel like melting any timepieces. So, I tried something that I dreamed up. I always feel like I'm viewing the world as if I want to photograph it. What better way to show that than with this self portrait. What do you all think?
