This event was a blast! I admittedly was skeptical about a wine festival in Elgin, but this was a great event, well-organized and well-attended. This wasn’t a wine tasting–there were no spit buckets or crackers, but instead was a very enjoyable festival where you can swallow wine without feeling like a bad boy. For the price of admission you got a lot of tickets for tasting a bunch of different wines (what did you think of that Almond Sparkling?) and you also got a full glass of excellent beer. This …

It’s getting livelier now with Mad Maggies on the block.

Main Event Elgin is a venue for mixed martial arts (MMA) fights as well as live music. It’s a part of The Roadhouse in Elgin, successor to the Prairie Rock. It’s got food, beverages and a beer garden.
I haven’t been here since the Rock closed but will hopefully try it soon. If you have reviews you can post them here.
