100 school administrators share billion dollar pension payments

22 June 2010 RS One Comment

Here’s a spreadsheet worth checking out.

Via Daily Mail:

That’s right. Former Niles Township school superintendent Neil Codell is projected to receive $26,661,604 in retirement checks from the Illinois teacher pension plan.

Whee.

He also gets free health care, term life insurance, and a $500-a-month stipend for an automobile.

In all, 100 school administrators will split $887,925,790 in pension checks in their retirement years.

That’s pretty close to a billion dollars. Is it time to pass a tax hike to pay for this?

Oh, if you were wondering about former U-46 chief Connie Neale, she is on the list with expected pension payments of $6.6 million.

Here’s another chart worth checking out. It shows that the cost of educating a child in the public school system has increased fourfold since 1970 (from $40,000 to $160,000), and that’s adjusted for inflation.

President Obama wants $50 billion for a public sector bailout.

Wow… for a parent with one kid in U-46 thru elementary and another going into private school for Jr. in the fall. This is good information!
