Please Reelect Republican Kane County Treasurer Dave Rickert for Treasurer

Dave has run his department under budget every year he has been elected and it makes economic sense as well as common sense to reelect Republican Dave Rickert for Kane County Treasurer.

For Kane County Judge in my opinion the most qualified is Republican Dave Akemann with 32 years of legal experience and twice elected Kane County States Attorney. The other compelling reasons why he is the most qualified are too numerous to list here so please see for yourself at:

For Republican Governor I am voting for a true outsider who has trained citizens to demand transparency by getting school board checkbooks register’s on the web for all to see in many school districts. Find out more about Republican Adam Andrzejewski.

In Kane County Board District 25 race please consider voting for challenger TR Smith.

It amazes me that the long time incumbent he is running against is the only board member who does not have an email address on the county web site.

If any elginite readers are from East Dundee and have not voted yet on the gambling expansion here are my thoughts:

There are a lot of reasons not to expand video gambling:

62 area governments have voted down the expansion of video gambling including Kane, Cook, and Dupage county.

Other states that voted it in realized their mistake and voted it out AFTER trying it.

Every dollar that is taken in by gambling is one less dollar that other non gambling merchants could have benefited from. Non gambling dollars get recycled to benefit more than one merchant in the community.

Having video gambling, which is considered the crack cocaine of gambling, available at more neighborhood bars close to work or home will give more opportunity for many more people to be harmed by the effects of a compulsive gambler. Studies show that about 17 other people are affected by a problem gambler.

Some of the revenue will just be a transfer from the riverboat to the machines in the bars

There are social agency costs to the agencies that help problem gamblers try and repair their lives.

There are untold costs to police to regulate the expansion of the gambling.

Some reasons why other states got rid of gambling after voting it in at:

16th Circuit Race — I for one am glad it’s between Akemann and Dalton for Judge (Go Northern Kane Co. Elginites!!!).

If I had to choose tomorrow - I would go with John Dalton - as I truly believe he has the smarts and instinct (Plus non-campaign-ties-to-lawyers-donations for favors) to judge me RIGHT when I’m in front of him in court.

I also KNOW he would abstain from my case as he would declare a relationship in our neighborhood planning relations the past 5 years. ;) So that’s ALL okay by me. Please know that Dave Akemann has fairly directed my kids in community theatre over the years - but it does not make me confident he would abstain himself or judge fairly when my family is on the stand in front of him - or know the other lawyer doesn’t have a ‘tie’ I can’t ‘untie’ because of 2010 campaign contributions…

    • rm says:

No one disputes that John G. Dalton has “smarts and instinct.” But so do rats. You did not mention him having any integrity or relevant experience.

From his Gold Coast mansion Mr. Smarts and Instinct has combined his genius with his Citicorp wealth to masterfully direct the Illegal movement in Elgin and the Chicago Machine’s local affiliate, the Noland Gang. And if you’re a member of those constituencies, I’m sure he’ll “judge you RIGHT.” But for honest and responsible residents of Kane County - the ones who aren’t big banks, illegal aliens, or Chicago Machine drones - it is apparent that only Mr. Ackemann has the integrity and legal experience to merit election to this Kane County judicial seat.

  5. Common Sense Clarence Hayward says:

In my opinion Republican David Akemann with 32 years of various legal experience as well as having been elected Kane States Attorney twice would serve us best as the next judge.

Dalton does not have a monopoly on not taking campaign donations from lawyers as David Akemann will not take contributions from lawyers that would be likely to appear in front of him.

Truly a community leader as well, David Akemann as a co-founder of Children’s Theater of Elgin and Fox Valley Youth Theater has been providing one of the best outlets for youth of our surrounding cities and towns to perform their performing arts and learn valuable life skills to prepare for their future careers for over 20 years.

I am so excited by the voters backlash at the county level to those who are well entrenched with Chairman Karen. Also another community has said they don’t want the expansion of video gambling. Finally, thanks to the voters for overwhelmingly supporting Republican Dave Rickert for Treasurer and Republican David Akemann for judge.

I love the fact that the common man has a free outlet in these posts to remind voters of some of the issues and facts. I used them all I could to remind the voters of just how high the Kane County payroll is in Kane County under Chairman McConnaughay’s rule.

A big thank you to the investigative reporters at the Beacon for the article I will post below. It is an eye opener that the taxpayers should not be happy with.

Regarding Kudlicki losing, I posted that he is the only board member on the county’s web site that does not have an email address. I encouraged voting him out partly because of that. Who in this day and age is going to vote for someone that isn’t even accessible to the voters by email?

Chairman Karen should have noticed that when I emailed her and all the board to encourage them to vote down the video gambling expansion, I asked someone to get the request to Kudlicki because he did not have an email address.

I made the same request to Chairman Karen and the board when I emailed all of them and appealed for them to try and persuade the Chairman and Deb Seyller to call of the tax wasting 100.00 per hour outside lawyers talking about her department’s budget.

I was critical of Wyatt, and Jones, so we will see if the absentee votes can vote out Jones as well.

I was not happy to see Leonberger wanted to revisit the video gambling vote so I had to post some opposition to her. Kudlicki also wanted the gambling.

The board voted the gambling expansion down by one vote so I hope they will honor they vote and not vote again. I also hope they will not authorize video gambling expansion in the county.

In the race of Barret challenging Fahy, when I read that Barret thought that board members should get paid for attending meetings that sealed his fate with me as far as I was concerned. The board just got a raise to compensate for not getting paid for each meeting attended so why would you want to waste tax payer money paying them to attend meetings?

I supported Wojnicki mostly because she is a thorn in the Chairman’s side from time to time. Open debate is good.

My one regret is that I remained neutral in Allan and Bernal race. The Daily Herald said that they thought Bernal had some good ideas and would be effective and so even though I liked Allan being a thorn so to speak from time to time as well with the Chairman, I decided to remain neutral. Congrats Deborah and a tip of the hat.

I believe that the way the voting went down it shows that the voters want more common sense on the board.

    December 4, 2009

A Sun-Times Media analysis of county records found numerous Kane County department heads, directors and managers in areas under Chairman Karen McConnaughay’s control earned 100,000 or more in 2009, many enjoying double-digit percentage pay bumps since 2004 to push them into the six-figure range. Several other county employees have not yet crossed into a six-figure salary, but have nonetheless received considerable raises.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics notes out of eight nearby counties, Kane’s 2008 average annual pay for local governments is highest. The figures below include executive, legislative and general government workers at county, municipal or other areas below state level.

    Kane: 55,486

    Will: 54,114

    Cook: 54,823

    Lake: 53,290

    DuPage: 52,739

    DeKalb: 42,586

    Kendall: 41,994

    McHenry: 41,780

    State average: 45,947

In 2010 let’s elect some common sense to the Kane County Board.

This piece was worth it’s wait in gold. If there was big money from engineering firms or unions supporting any of the incumbent board members this article was priceless for the voters to read. I am so glad the big money has no actual vote and it is still up to the voters to do the voting.

In the last Elgin city council election I helped defeat the long time incumbents and one former city council member who all were part of an informal majority vote along with the mayor, that at one time were considering hiring Futterman law firm to consider suing OUR OWN U46 SCHOOL DISTRICT over new boundaries.

I sent a letter to the local paper stating why it was a bad idea to sue and the Mayor had his letter right above mine stating why his side was right. Shortly after one informal member changed sides which resulted in an informal tie vote.

They tabled their formal vote when one member changed sides but their ridiculous sparks of litigation talk took fire with a group of parents who then went and hired the same law firm and the taxpayers and our school district are out 8.2 million dollars on this class action lawsuit that is still blazing out of control like a California forest fire of litigation taking the taxpayer dollars up in smoke and hurting teachers, students, programs, and the taxpayers. We really got burned.

I reminded the taxpayers every chance I got before election and all three of them lost. One had about 21 years, one 10 years, and the other 4 years.

Thanks East Dundee for being the latest on board to vote down the expansion of video gambling.

63 area governments have voted down the expansion of video gambling including Kane, Cook, and Dupage county.

I spoke against expanding the gambling at the public hearing the county had and I emailed all the board members and gave my reasons why I thought they should vote it down. They wisely voted it down by one vote. Thank you for that and thank you for any board members that did not show for the meeting who might have been for it. For once I am glad some did not show up.

In a recent Kane County Committee of the Whole meeting Judge Golden of the drug court informed us that crack cocaine is the drug of choice the majority abuse.

Interesting that many have coined video gambling the “crack cocaine” of gambling.

I am so thankful to the voters for overwhelmingly supporting Republican Dave Rickert for Kane County Treasurer and Republican David Akemann for our next judge.

With 32 years of legal experience and twice being elected Kane County States Attorney please see why Republican David Akemann is the best choice to be our next judge at:

Clarence, you have been blasted again for your posts in the Daily Herald again today! It seems to some that you self appointed yourself to our watchdog status with your continued posts. I through time have heard good and bad about these. So, lets allow the elginite to place a poll as they do on the side of this blog and ask all of us if we desire or want your posts! Don’t you want to know, I certainly would!

One of our most precious freedoms is freedom of speech. I do not for one minute claim that anyone got elected or not elected solely because of me. I do claim that I have some influence. How much influence no one will know.

It never ceases to amaze me how someone would be critical of the volume of print I put in a post. It is SO EASY to scroll past my posts if you don’t want to read them.

By my taking a side of course my opponents are going to start thumbing me down at the Daily Herald. I personally don’t think it is right that the Daily Herald has the thumbs down. It conflicts with true freedom of speech.

Wouldn’t it be easier just to ask how many people actually read the entire rambling post of his above? Something about Clarence being directly responsible for everyone who was and wasn’t elected in Elgin and kane county over the past few years, though I do admit I didn’t make it to the end of his post before deciding that there went a few minutes of my life I’ll never get back.

In the run up to the election I was noticing all those “Scott Lee Cohen” signs popping up in Elgin. Who dat? I was wondering. All I knew was that the local Democratic operatives were getting out in the snow and putting some real effort behind this guy. Well, now everyone knows a whole lot about Scott Lee Cohen… Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor, wife-choker and steroid sucker. I can’t imagine these attributes would be too troubling to Elgin “progressives” like the Dalton/Noland/Schock element who probably just see Mr. Cohen as adding more “diversity” to the ticket and reaching out to the wife-abuser and doper communities. But, of course, for mainstream Americans Mr. Cohen will be even more repellent than Banker Bad Boy Alexi, a point even Quinn and Alexi himself seem to understand.

Also, Jim Warren tonight in the New York Times mentioned Noland’s seat as one that was potentially at risk for the Democrats. Man, wouldn’t it be great for our families, kids and communities to get rid of that guy? And Schock? And Dalton…? Pollyanna me, I know, but if we could shut down their “East St. Louis on the Fox” racket we might even have a whole year go by without a kid getting killed on our streets.

  10. Common Sense Clarence Hayward says:

For the taxpayers benefit I would like to see Illinois eliminate the lieutenant governor position.
