The 2009 Elgin Asian Fest is being held at Festival Park Saturday from noon until 10:30 pm.
Highlights include cooking demos, sports demos, a fashion show and a performance of traditional Lao dances. For more details please see the website.
It was interesting to see that one of the event sponsors is Medusa. I also noticed the new signage on their Chicago Street location, so I guess The Mission is now just a chapter of Medusa’s storied history?

The worst thing was Keith Farnham…shark that he is…was circling there and shaking hands.
I hope the festival continues to grow. My suggestion is more sponsor/vendors and more highlighting of other Asian nationalities. It seems mostly Lao at this point in time.
