Brenda Harris Khan: City Council Candidate

Brenda Harris Khan is a candidate for Elgin City Council.
Beyond that, there’s little information out there about her. She declined to participate in AFLA’s questionnaire, so her positions are known perhaps only to those who have been religiously attending candidate forums. I’m not even sure if she has participated in those either.
The Herald did have this about her: “Harris Khan, a former administrative assistant to an Elgin manufacturing firm, said she would work toward bringing more affordable housing to the area, along with helping companies create more jobs.”
And she has a LinkedIn profile that describes her as a self-employed writer and editor who received an associates degree from Elgin Community College in 1998.
EDIT (3/16/2009):
Ms. Khan participated in a candidates forum sponsored by Unity in the Community tonight, so I learned a little more about her. As stated earlier, she’s interested in affordable housing, and she’s been a social service volunteer (U-46, Special Olympics) since 1996. She’s been an Elgin resident for 19 years. I spotted former city council candidate and township trustee candidate Hidayat Khan in the audience, who I’m guessing is somehow related to Ms. Khan. I didn’t get a chance to ask. Ms. Khan can be contacted at her Yahoo email address, beeharris at Yahoo.

Hidayat Khan is a muslim name. Khan last name is Muslim too. I want to know more about her.
