FYI- Linda Quezada’s “suckafree2″ Facebook page is now a private page requiring her permission for anyone to visit her site.

  6. Boxcar says:

That link is an archived paged that is no longer available to anyone searching for information.

    This is what is current:

It would be helpful, at least for me, if city council candidates would update their Web sites or at least participate in some open discussion with citizens here, on this site.

For me, it’s frustrating to visit candidates’ sites only to find little or no information available about the people they promote. Personally, I will find it difficult to schedule “meet the candidate” events, and would consider widely-accessible information online to be very valuable.

I would like to know more about everyone!

  8. Hello James and fellow Elginites.

I try to frequently log onto elginite.org to keep my finger on the pulse of the residents’ thoughts and concerns. I too believe in accessibility and provide my personal cell phone number to everyone I speak with. It is 630-927-5890. Please call me with any questions, concerns or thoughts to help Elgin become an even better place to live. I promise if I am unavailable when you call, I will return your phone call within 24 hours. If you prefer e-mail, my address is CharleneforElgin @aol.com

Also Mr. Prigge, came up with a great idea about keeping his web sites live once elected. I agree with this concept. I too will keep my web site live as it will provide an ongoing communication tool and additional transparency in our city government.

Having “some open discussion with citizens here, on this site” is a very progressive way to engage with City Council candidates. I would welcome the opportunity to set aside a day and time every week to achieve this dialogue. This then would provide the “widely-accessible information online” as James had mention. How would Sundays at 8:30 p.m. work to Blog on this important subject? This way everyone could have the family feed, the kids in bed and still take care of a few things before calling it night.

    Everyone, your thoughts?

  9. James says:

Charlene, I appreciate the consideration and your commitment to making yourself accessible throughout your campaign. I’m definitely looking forward to hearing more about your stances on important issues brought up within this blog and in the near future.
