I have to admit that I felt sorry for the guy. He just seemed like he was in over his head. Clean Car Act? What dat?
If elected, he has a lot of catching up to do. Generally I don’t hold it against newcomers that they know less about legislation than incumbents, who will always have that advantage. But I don’t think the state of Illinois or the people of Elgin will benefit from yet another Democrat in the state house. Are not both chambers and the governor’s house already occupied by Democrats? And what has single-party rule accomplished for the state of Illinois?
Mr. Farnham is mostly known as a property owner and business owner, but his views are decidedly anti-business. He is a union man, and believes in income redistribution. Not that those things go hand in hand, but in this case they do.
If you believe in the Democratic platform of higher taxes and income redistribution, then Keith Farnham is probably your man. The rest of us will be voting for Ruth Munson.
