Jim Oberweis tv spots

September 14th, 2008

Quite possibly the worst political ads in the history of television advertising:

OMG, His children actually like him!!! What a surprise! I’m sure everybody will be lining up to vote for him now.

Come on, Mr. Oberweis you can do better than this.

How about some endorsements that really matter? Palin? McCain? Hastert?

How about highlighting Bill Foster’s promise of “change” only to be followed by his earmarking binge and his abuse of the frank? How about highlighting Mr. Foster’s support for illegal alien amnesty, which is opposed by the vast majority of Americans and voters of the 14th district?

Apparently, Mr. Oberweis has been advised to soften his image, become more likable, but it’s too late for that. There’s not enough time between now and the election for Mr. Oberweis to change his own image. As they say, first impressions are lasting ones. Instead of trying to change his image, he should deal with the image he has, embrace it even, turn it into an asset. Reformers are by nature, people who are willing to shake things up. They are straight-talking people who are not necessarily nice.

This is an election where the Straight Talk Express is headed to Washington. Jim Oberweis had better get on board.

ha ha, those are cheesy. so does the curly-haired daughter just admit that her dad likes her sister better?

he could probably win voters over if he gave everyone a coupon each for free ice cream…

Yeah that would be awesome. Unfortunately I don’t think he can even give away ice cream at his events, because of FEC rules.

I’d take the coupon but I don’t know if I’d vote for him…then again..what’s the alternative? I wish his party would back someone else.

  4. RS says:

    There is no alternative :)
