I just love the juxtaposition of modern and traditional architecture. Without contemporary architecture, a place seems trapped in time–a good place to visit, but not one where people want to live or work. Historic buildings must be preserved, but when new buildings are built, they must truly be new buildings, not pastiche. Save the garbage for Disneyland and Vegas.
