Those intrepid Elgin Democrats

12 February 2008 RS No Comment

There are six countywide offices up in the November general election — Kane County Board chairman, auditor, recorder, coroner, circuit clerk and state’s attorney — but Democrats ran in the primary for only two of the positions.

Sandy Kaczmarski of Elgin won the Democratic primary for board chairman and will oppose GOP incumbent Chairman Karen McConnaughay. Thomas Sandor of Elgin won the Democratic nod for auditor and will face GOP incumbent Auditor William Keck.

No Democrats ran for the four other countywide positions. (Elgin Courier News 2/9/08)

On the Republican side, Mike Kenyon of South Elgin is running for Kane GOP chairman.
