Lawyers choose Golden
The Illinois Bar Association released the results of an attorneys’ poll showing the 16th Circuit justice is favored among participating lawyers, with more than 91 percent voting “yes” to whether Golden meets the requirements of the office. Golden was appointed to the newly created 2nd Subcircuit and is running to retain the position.
Fellow Republican and former Kane County State’s Attorney David Akemann got about 60 percent approval in the “meets requirements” category. Kane County Board Member John Noverini of Carpentersville — a longtime Republican who is running for the judgeship on the Democratic ticket — got the nod from about 39 percent of Illinois lawyers.
A minimum 65 percent approval rating in this category was needed for the candidate to achieve a rating of “recommended.”
Akemann and Noverini both are rated “not recommended.”

Golden told the crowd at the Republican event in East Dundee on 1/16 that she had never voted as a Democrat in the last 10 years. Turns out she had in 2002 according to the official records of the Kane County Clerk. Can we trust her on the bench?
A judge who gets caught in a lie should be disbarred! The more they lie and get away with it, the closer they approach Nifongness! We sure don’t need that in Kane County.
I vote for judges in inverse proportions to the number of lawyers who support them. I want a “peoples’” judge, not a “lawyers’” judge.
