The Daily Herald reported fundraising figures for the 49th district candidates:
State Rep. Tim Schmitz, a Batavia Republican, raised $79,160 this period in an effort to ward off challenger Jim Krenz of Carpentersville, who has raised $62,933.
Schmitz’s single biggest donor is the Associated Beer Distributors of IllinoisPAC, which transferred $14,000. Krenz’s single biggest donor is Roeser, who gave $15,000 personally and another $10,000 through the Family Taxpayers Network.
Whether he wins or not, Schmitz is guaranteed the fight of his life.

This information does not make one’s choices any easier. The news about Jack Roeser’s support for Krenz is particularly disturbing. Jack, his son Tom and their purportedly “conservative Republican” FTN have been a sinister force across the Fox Valley for many years. Jack and the FTN were rich and vocal supporters of the loathsome and ethically-challenged Meg Gorecki who was so damaging to honest civic values, the Republican party and the State’s Attorney’s office in Kane County. Moreover, from their mansions in Barrington the Roesers make huge profits off their Otto Engineering and the sort of dubiously legal Mexican peon labor that’s transforming the Fox Valley into a leafy ghetto. Tom Roeser launders some of his Mexican-sweated loot through his leadership of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, thereby allowing him to look like a generous patron of the arts while he lives far from Elgin, its gangs, Angel Facios and other social consequences of his greed and indifference to the welfare of his fellow Americans.
So much for Mr. Krenz. On the other hand, can anyone confirm that Tim Schmitz voted in favor of the act giving illegal aliens in-state tuition waivers at Illinois universities? Will either of these gentlemen represent the interests of law-abiding American citizens or will they just be Mexican flunkies in “Republican” guise like Ruth Munson and John Walters?
Thanks for your comment, RM.
I prefer to give Otto Engineering and the Roesers the benefit of the doubt as to the legal status of their employees.
I don’t know enough about Family Taxpayers Network or Jack Roeser to say anything about his endorsement of Jim Krenz, but I am supporting Jim Krenz based on his own character and where he stands on issues of importance in the Fox Valley.
There is no question about where Mr. Krenz stands on illegal immigration. As a small business owner, he has actually fired employees when he found they were here illegally. I don’t think a lot of people can say that or would be willing to do that if one of their own employees were illegal aliens.
As for your question about Tim Schmitz voting in favor of in-state tuition for illegal aliens, see Schmit’z response about midway through this video:

Apparently he is proud to have voted for it, making Illinois one of only ten states in the union to give tuition breaks to illegal aliens.
If you don’t understand the last part of his statement, all it means is that an illegal alien applying for in-state tuition is required to sign an affidavit stating that he intends file an application to become a permanent resident at the earliest opportunity.
