Hi Laura!

If you're looking for good donuts, try going to the Rolling Donut up on 25/Dundee. It's a little hole-in-the-wall place but they make the best donuts I've ever eaten. If you like Krispy Kreme, this place makes those taste bad!! ;)

Frankwolftown, hope your question is answered!

Boulangerie is a French Bakery, as one would have assumed from a name "La Baguette".

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a place to pick up some good homemade sourdough bread? Fancy baked goods for a party, nice cakes in pink boxes. Clearly I'm too romantic-minded to be living in Elgin. Yet I hope!

I also had prayed for a Starbuck's to go in there-same way I hoped the Leitner Building would be a Starbucks or Caribou-but alas...

I suppose I don't need to be eating baked goods OR getting Starbucks on a regular basis, but I would like a good bakery with things in it that I like. I've always found Hispanic baked goods to be very dry and tasteless. And I'm bored with Dunkin Donuts.

Thanks RS, always, for the finger on the pulse view you provide with this blog (I only wish you'd post more!). I know you get flack for being a complainer, but I too feel the frustration you're coming from. So much wasted potential here, so much.
