i will be in elgin tomorrow, wed. jan 24th, I will be drinking at gasthaus between 8-10pm if anyone wants to hang out, I would be thrilled to do more shows in Elgin if someone would provide a space, I am meeting with Dave at the Mission and the Turners Hall folks, but I am not sure how promising that will be, is John Emerson still around? anyone can contact me at mpshows [at] gmail.com, basically I want to retire in Elgin someday and would love to get involved, I say we vote Rob Kellenberger for Mayor, imagine the name recognition!!

I know there will never been another third floor. But I wanted to let everyone know that your favorite bar "The Gast Haus" is under new ownership and managment and being run by Elgin locals who grew up in and around the Elgin punk scene. We are dying to do shows there. However at this time we can only fit around 100 or so people. We have some big plans to redo the upstairs and have bands play up there, where we will be able to fit many more people.

Currently we had to close the restaurant to bring everything up to code but the bar is still open and doing better than ever. So please stop on down and hang out with some old friends. Also any bands that want to play contact us via our myspace page.
www.myspace.com/gasthausbar and send a message directed towards Katie she is handling all shows.

Thanks
