Kane County Board member Cathy Hurlbut and her husband John Hurlbut, both of whom are running for political office, were sued last month by the family of a girl who was raped in the Hurlbut home by the Hurlbut’s son, while his parents were within earshot of the girl’s screams and did nothing, the lawsuit alleges.
At Elgin’s budget talks on Friday afternoon with city council and staff, Elgin City Manager Sean Stegall laid out three possible budgets for the City of Elgin. One budget calls for cutting more than 100 full time positions, closing two fire stations and all recreation facilities.
